■Experience Yabusame at Mt. Fuji’s Omuro Sengen Shrine — Free Program for 3 Groups, Special Gift for All Applicants
富士吉田市の富士山下宮小室浅間神社で、伝統の流鏑馬（やぶさめ）神事を体験できる特別プログラムの無料招待が実施される。山梨日日新聞社は、最大4名1組で3組（計12名）を招待する企画を行っており、応募者全員には「馬と歩こう」無料参加券も進呈する。応募締切は4月14日。
Omuro Sengen Shrine, located at the base of Mt. Fuji in Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture, is offering a rare opportunity to experience the traditional Japanese horseback archery ritual, Yabusame. Organized by the Yamanashi Nichinichi Shimbun, three groups (up to 4 people each) will be invited to participate free of charge, with an additional “Walk with Horses” experience ticket gifted to all applicants. The application deadline is April 14, 2025.
流鏑馬体験は、5月7日から6月30日までの希望日から選ぶことができ、約2時間にわたるプログラムでは、騎射装束の着付け、馬とのふれあい、弓の構え方の練習、馬上での基本動作、そして本番さながらの騎射実践まで一連の流れを体験できる。
The Yabusame experience runs between May 7 and June 30, with the selected winners able to choose their preferred date. The approximately two-hour program includes donning traditional archery attire, bonding with the horse, practicing archery form, basic horseback training, and finally shooting arrows from horseback in a simulated ritual setting.
体験の舞台となる富士山下宮小室浅間神社では、800年以上にわたり流鏑馬が神事として行われており、馬のひづめ跡を見てその年の吉凶を占ってきた歴史がある。地域の伝統を現代につなぐ試みとして、体験型プログラムや馬車によるまち歩き、馬とのふれあい事業など、馬力を活用した地域振興の取り組みも進められている。
Omuro Sengen Shrine has hosted the sacred Yabusame ritual for over 800 years. In the tradition, the direction and depth of the horse’s hoofprints are believed to reveal fortunes for the coming year. Today, the site also promotes community revitalization through horse-centered tourism, including carriage rides and hands-on horse interaction programs.
無料招待の応募には、山梨日日新聞社LINE公式アカウント「さんにち新聞」への友だち登録が必要で、登録後に応募フォームから申請する。未成年の応募は不可。抽選結果は賞品の発送をもって発表とされる。
