Yasukuni Shrine’s Yushukan Museum Introduces Smartphone Audio Guide for War History Exhibits
靖國神社（東京都千代田区）に併設される「遊就館」で、2025年4月2日よりスマートフォン向け音声ガイドサービスが導入された。これは株式会社トゥーエイト（本社：東京都渋谷区）が提供するWebブラウザ対応の「ミュージアムガイド」サービスを活用したもので、アプリのダウンロード不要、館内QRコードの読み取りだけで利用できるのが特徴。スマートフォンの言語設定に応じて、日本語または英語の音声ガイドが自動表示される仕組みとなっている。
Yushukan Museum, located on the grounds of Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo, launched a smartphone-compatible audio guide service on April 2, 2025. The system, developed by Tokyo-based company 28 Inc., allows visitors to access guided explanations in Japanese or English directly from their phone browsers by scanning QR codes displayed throughout the museum—no app download required.
遊就館は、明治維新から現代に至るまでの戦争史を紹介する資料館であり、今回の音声ガイドでは、全22展示室を4つのグループに分けて、順路に沿って展示内容を案内。特攻兵器「桜花」や「零式艦上戦闘機」、錦の御旗など歴史的な展示物26点に加え、英霊の遺書・書簡など19点についても解説が提供される。展示室の構成や資料の意義をより深く理解できるよう工夫されており、今後さらにガイド内容の拡充が予定されている。
The guide covers 22 exhibition rooms divided into four groups and provides detailed narration of 26 key artifacts and 19 personal documents such as farewell letters from soldiers. Notable items include the human torpedo “Kaiten,” the “Ohka” rocket-propelled aircraft, the “Suisei” dive bomber, and the famous “Nishiki-no-Mihata” imperial flag.
導入された「ミュージアムガイド」は、低コストかつ衛生面でも優れた運用が可能で、展示物をスマートフォン上で気軽に理解できる手段として注目されている。とくに多言語対応が可能な点から、海外からの来館者にも利用しやすい仕様となっており、国際的な利用にも対応。衛生面にも配慮され、来館者自身の端末で完結することで、貸出機器不要の新たな博物館体験の形としての導入が進んでいる。
This new feature enhances the understanding of Japan’s military history through intuitive and accessible technology. The guide is designed for ease of use, cost efficiency, and hygiene, as visitors use their own smartphones. Future content expansion is planned to further enrich the educational experience.
音声ガイドの利用は、館内に掲示されたQRコードからアクセスする形式で、来館時に誰でも手軽に利用できる。戦争史を学ぶ場としての遊就館の理解促進に寄与する新たな取り組みとして、今後の利用拡大が期待されている。
