Scented Goshuin Offered at Four Temples in Higashi-Izu: A Spring-Only Experience
静岡県東伊豆町にある4カ寺で、香り付き御朱印「香運御朱印」の頒布が行われている。期間は2025年4月1日から6月30日まで。通年開催の「御朱印さんぽ」に加えた春限定企画で、各寺ごとに異なる香りが施されているのが特徴だ。
Four temples in Higashi-Izu, Shizuoka Prefecture, are offering limited-edition scented goshuin (temple stamps) from April 1 to June 30, 2025. This spring-only initiative, called “Kōun Goshuin,” is part of the town’s year-round Goshuin Sanpo program and aims to enhance the sensory experience of temple visits by incorporating fragrance into each stamp.
御朱印は地域の文化や寺院の個性を伝えるものとして親しまれてきたが、今回の企画では香りを通じて参拝の記憶をより印象づける工夫が加えられている。御朱印帳を開いた際に広がる香りが、旅の記憶を呼び起こす。
頒布しているのは以下の4カ寺：
▪清光院（藤の花／チューリップ／アジサイの香り）
▪済廣寺（夜香樹＝ナイトジャスミンの香り）
▪栄昌院（ニューサマーオレンジの香り）
▪東泉院（パシフィックオーシャンの香り）
Each temple provides its own unique scent:
▪Seikōin: Wisteria / Tulip / Hydrangea
▪Saikōji: Night jasmine
▪Eishōin: New summer orange
▪Tōsenin: Pacific Ocean breeze
各寺の授与所で受け付けており、頒布は数量限定。御朱印を受け取ることで、参拝とともに季節の趣を感じられる。
The concept is designed to deepen the emotional connection to one’s travels by using fragrance to anchor the memory of the visit. The limited-quantity goshuin are available at each temple’s reception desk and are expected to attract visitors interested in both traditional worship and sensorial engagement.
