“Shiokake Jizo Festival” at Chifukuji Temple, Nerima — Prayers and Local Marche to Be Held
東京都練馬区・智福寺で、地域に伝わる信仰行事「塩かけ地蔵まつり」が4月27日に開催される。塩をかけて痛みや病気平癒を祈願する伝統に親しみながら、健康祈願と地域交流を楽しむ機会となる。
Chifukuji Temple in Nerima Ward, Tokyo, will host the traditional “Shiokake Jizo Festival” on April 27, inviting participants to experience a unique ritual of sprinkling salt on the Jizo statue for health prayers, while enjoying a vibrant local community event.
智福寺に祀られる「塩かけ地蔵」は、体の痛む箇所に塩をすり込み祈願すると快癒すると伝えられる地蔵尊。400年以上の歴史を持つとされ、長年にわたり多くの参拝者が祈りを重ねてきた。祭り当日は、11時から僧侶による祈願法要も執り行われる。
The “Shiokake Jizo” enshrined at Chifukuji Temple is believed to cure ailments when visitors rub salt on the afflicted areas while praying. With a history of over 400 years, the statue has been venerated by generations of worshippers. A formal prayer ceremony led by monks will be held at 11:00 a.m. during the festival.
また、境内では地元産の野菜やお茶、手作り品を販売するマルシェも同時開催。マキノ祭典による季節の生花の販売もあり、参拝の後に地元の恵みを楽しめる内容となっている。
A local marche featuring fresh produce, tea, and handmade goods will also be set up within the temple grounds. Seasonal flowers will be available for purchase, provided by Makino Saiten, offering visitors a chance to enjoy local offerings after their prayers.
会場は西武新宿線「上石神井駅」から徒歩約8分。公共交通機関の利用が推奨されている。祈りと地域のつながりを感じられる一日となりそうだ。
Chifukuji Temple is an 8-minute walk from Kamishakujii Station on the Seibu Shinjuku Line. Visitors are encouraged to use public transportation. The event promises a day of prayer, health wishes, and community spirit.
