Spring Encounter with National Treasures in Expo-Year Osaka — “Japan National Treasures Exhibition” at the Renewed Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts (Apr 26–Jun 15)
リニューアルオープンを迎えた大阪市立美術館で、特別展「日本国宝展」が開催されている。会期は2025年4月26日から6月15日まで。展示される国宝は約130件（参考出品を除く）にのぼり、会場では日本美術の通史を体感できる構成となっている。
Following its grand reopening, the Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts is now hosting a special exhibition, Japan National Treasures Exhibition, from April 26 to June 15, 2025. Featuring approximately 130 National Treasures (excluding reference works), the exhibition presents a sweeping overview of Japanese art history.
本展は、同年に大阪で開催中の「大阪・関西万博」にあわせた企画でもあり、万博に訪れる国内外の来館者に、日本文化の根幹をなす美術工芸の至宝を紹介する機会として位置づけられている。
This exhibition is also timed to coincide with the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo, offering both domestic and international visitors a rare opportunity to experience the finest treasures of Japanese art and culture.
展示では、仏教や神道に関する信仰の造形も多く含まれる。仏教彫刻では、奈良・薬師寺の《聖観音菩薩立像》、京都・浄瑠璃寺の《持国天立像》、唐招提寺の《鑑真和上坐像》が並ぶ。いずれも7〜12世紀にさかのぼる作例で、宗教美術としての歴史的価値が高い。
Among the highlights are numerous religious artworks. Buddhist sculptures include the Standing Sho Kannon Bosatsu from Yakushiji Temple (Nara), the Standing Jikokuten from Joruriji Temple (Kyoto), and the Seated Portrait of Ganjin from Toshodaiji Temple (Nara)—masterpieces from the 7th to 12th centuries.
経典では、広島・厳島神社所蔵《平家納経 観普賢経》、静岡・鉄舟禅寺の《法華経（久能寺経）提婆達多品第十二》などが公開されている。また、延暦寺伝来の《金銀鍍宝相華文経箱》《宝相華蒔絵経箱》など、経巻を納める荘厳具も展示されている。
Sacred scriptures include the Heike Nōkyō: Kan Fugen-kyō from Itsukushima Shrine (Hiroshima) and the Lotus Sutra: Devadatta Chapter from Tesshu Zenji Temple (Shizuoka). Ornate sutra boxes from Enryakuji Temple (Shiga), such as the Gilt Bronze Sutra Container with Floral Medallions, are also on display.
神道に関しては、奈良・春日大社の古神宝類《蒔絵箏》《金鶴及銀樹枝》、和歌山・熊野速玉大社の《家津御子大神坐像》《唐衣》《衾》などが並ぶ。いずれも平安時代から南北朝時代に奉納されたもので、神像や装束、器物における神聖のかたちを伝える資料である。
In the realm of Shinto, offerings from Kasuga Taisha (Nara) include the Makie Koto and Gold and Silver Crane and Branch Ornaments, while Kumano Hayatama Taisha (Wakayama) presents treasures such as the Seated Statue of Yakezu no Mikogami, Karaginu Robe, and Futon. These sacred objects, dating from the Heian to Nanbokucho periods, reflect the divine aesthetics of ritual attire and furnishings.
国宝という制度のもとに守られてきた文化遺産が、一堂に会する希有な機会となっている。
