Hasedera Temple in Kamakura Introduces Online Reservations for Ajisai Path to Reduce Congestion
神奈川県鎌倉市の長谷寺は、境内の名所「あじさい路」への入場について、今年5月からネット予約による時間帯指定制を導入した。
Hasedera Temple in Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture, has introduced a new timed-entry system for its Ajisai Path, requiring online reservations starting in May.
これまでも、混雑する時期には「専用券」（あじさい券）を購入しての入場が必要とされてきたが、今年からは予約サイトを通じて事前にチケットを申し込む仕組みに変更された。
Although visitors were previously required to purchase an Ajisai Ticket during peak season, the updated procedure now asks them to reserve tickets online in advance.
5月下旬から6月下旬にかけて見頃を迎えるあじさい路には、40種類以上・約2500株のあじさいが植えられており、毎年多くの参拝者でにぎわう。
The path features approximately 2,500 hydrangea bushes that bloom from late May through late June, attracting large crowds every year.
新たな制度では、予約時に30分ごとの時間帯を選ぶ。拝観当日には通常の拝観料とあわせて、指定時間内にチケットを提示すれば、待ち時間なしで案内される。
Under the new system, visitors select a 30-minute time slot when reserving. On the day of their visit, they pay the regular admission fee and present their ticket within the selected time to enter without waiting.
あじさい路は130段を超える石段が続く山道で、安全確保の観点からも入場制限の導入が検討されてきた。寺では、「祈りの場としての環境を守ることも大切」として今回の変更を決めた。
The path includes more than 130 steps and follows a steep incline. Entry restrictions had long been under consideration due to safety concerns. The temple also emphasized the importance of maintaining a tranquil atmosphere suitable for prayer.
なお、境内の他のエリアでもあじさいは観賞可能であり、券を持たない来訪者も季節の彩りを楽しむことができる。
Hydrangeas bloom throughout the temple grounds, allowing those without tickets to also enjoy the seasonal landscape.
