“Haikyo Maniacs” Event Highlights Ruined Temples and Giant Buddha Statues
人の営みが去った場所に、かつての信仰の痕跡が残ることがある。廃寺、廃仏像、忘れられた聖地──こうした「宗教的廃墟」をめぐる視点が語られるトークイベントが、5月30日に新宿ロフトプラスワンで開催される。Where human activity has receded, traces of past faith sometimes remain—abandoned temples, neglected statues, forgotten sacred grounds. These overlooked religious ruins will take center stage at a talk event on May 30 at Shinjuku Loft PlusOne.
このイベントは、大洋図書から4月に刊行された『廃墟マニアックス！廃愛本』の発売を記念したもので、「廃愛者」8名がそれぞれの偏愛ジャンルについて語り合う内容となっている。
The event marks the publication of Haikyo Maniacs: The Book of Abandoned Love by Taiyo Tosho in April. Eight speakers known for their devotion to different “haikyo” (abandoned space) subcultures will present their personal fascinations.
登壇者の一人「クロスケ」は、廃墟となった巨大仏像や宗教施設を紹介する。かつて信仰を集めた建築物が、今日どのような状態で残されているのか、実地調査に基づく事例とともに語る。
One of the speakers, Kurosuke, will present examples of abandoned giant Buddha statues and religious structures—documenting their current condition through on-site investigations.
会場では、各ジャンルの専門家によるグッズ販売や写真展示も行われる。宗教遺産に限らず、廃村や廃線、戦後遺構など、さまざまな「失われた風景」が交錯する夜になる。
The venue will also host merchandise booths and photography exhibits curated by each presenter. In addition to religious ruins, themes will span abandoned villages, rail lines, and postwar industrial remnants—intertwining fragments of vanished landscapes.
