Festival Memory Preserved in Art: “Reiwa Ōgane-sai Emaki” Unveiled by Enoshima Shrine and Tama Art University
完成間近の令和洪鐘祭絵巻（部分）。歴史的な瞬間を絵巻に具現化する学生の様子
藤沢市の江島神社と多摩美術大学が共同制作を進めてきた「令和洪鐘祭絵巻」が完成し、5月27日に江の島サムエル・コッキング苑内のギャラリーで発表される。
A collaborative project between Enoshima Shrine in Fujisawa and Tama Art University has culminated in the completion of the Reiwa Ōgane-sai Emaki (Reiwa Grand Bell Festival Picture Scroll), which will be officially unveiled on May 27 at a gallery within the Samuel Cocking Garden on Enoshima.
絵巻は、2023年10月に江島神社と鎌倉・円覚寺によって執り行われた合同祭礼「洪鐘弁天大祭」の様子を、日本画の技法によって描きとめたもの。
The scroll depicts scenes from the Ōgane Benten Grand Festival, a joint religious ceremony held in October 2023 by Enoshima Shrine and Engaku-ji Temple in Kamakura, rendered using traditional Japanese painting techniques.
明治期の祭礼を伝える絵巻が現存していたことをきっかけに、江島神社が若い世代による絵巻制作を提案。祭礼の記録と継承を目指し、多摩美術大学日本画専攻の学生がリサーチを重ねながら約1年をかけて制作した。
Inspired by Meiji-era emaki that recorded past festivals, Enoshima Shrine initiated the idea of creating a new scroll through the eyes of the younger generation. Students from Tama Art University’s Nihonga program conducted field research and completed the piece over the course of a year.
作品は長さ20メートルに及び、表装は文化財修理の専門会社である半田九清堂によって仕立てられた。
The 20-meter-long scroll was mounted by Handa Kyuseido, a restoration studio specializing in cultural assets.
発表会は江の島アートフェスティバル（4月12日〜6月1日）の一環として、5月27日（火）午前11時より開催される。一般向け展示は、会場となるUMIYAMAギャラリーにて5月26日（月）と28日（水）にも予定されている（いずれも10:00〜15:00）。
The unveiling will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, as part of the Enoshima Art Festival (April 12–June 1). Additional public viewings are scheduled for May 26 and 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the same venue, UMIYAMA Gallery.
