Bridging Disasters and Communities Through Faith Spaces—Expo 2025 Osaka Highlights Religious Institutions and Children’s Cafeterias Collaboration
2025年5月17日、大阪・関西万博の会場内で、「宗教施設とこども食堂がつなぐ“有事と平時”の絆」と題するイベントが開催される。主催は、認定NPO法人全国こども食堂支援センター・むすびえ。いのち会議と共催し、大阪大学社会ソリューションイニシアティブ（SSI）が協力する。
On May 17, 2025, the Expo 2025 Osaka venue will host an event titled “Bridging Crises and Everyday Life: Partnerships Between Religious Institutions and Children’s Cafeterias.” Organized by Musubie, a certified NPO supporting children’s cafeterias, the event is co-hosted by the “Inochi Kaigi” (Life Conference) and supported by Osaka University’s Social Solution Initiative (SSI).
本イベントでは、こども食堂と宗教施設の連携が、日常的な地域活動として機能するだけでなく、自然災害などの有事の際に、どのように防災・復興支援の拠点となりうるかが焦点となる。
The event explores how partnerships between children’s cafeterias and religious institutions function not only as community-based efforts in daily life, but also as key support hubs during disasters such as earthquakes and typhoons.
特に、令和6年の能登半島地震において宗教施設で実施された「出張こども食堂」の事例をもとに、「平時のつながりが有事にどう活きるか」がテーマとして掘り下げられる。
A highlight will be the field case study of mobile children’s cafeterias set up at temples during the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake, showing how everyday relationships can provide life-saving infrastructure in times of crisis.
登壇者には、真宗大谷派の僧侶であり石川県でこども食堂を運営する日野史氏や、大阪大学人間科学研究科の稲場圭信教授らが名を連ねる。稲場教授は、2018年から大阪大学SSIの防災・宗教連携研究を主導してきた人物でもある。
Speakers include Shin Buddhist monk Hino Fumi, who runs a local children’s cafeteria in Komatsu City, Ishikawa, and Osaka University Professor Inaba Keishin, a leading researcher in the field of disaster response and religious networks since 2018.
また、富山・石川の子ども支援団体や、防災士の資格を持つプロジェクトリーダーの森谷哲氏（むすびえ）も登壇し、現地の声を交えたセッションが行われる。
Other speakers include Musubie director Moriya Satoshi—a certified disaster prevention specialist—and community leaders from affected regions, offering grounded perspectives from recent experiences.
イベントは2部構成で、同内容を繰り返し実施。動画上映、講演、トークセッション、自由対話の時間が設けられ、宗教空間を活用した地域共助の可能性を多面的に共有する機会となる。
The event will feature two identical sessions consisting of video screenings, talks, panel discussions, and informal dialogue, serving as a platform for sharing multi-stakeholder insights into how religious spaces support regional disaster resilience.
