Special First-Ever Nighttime Viewing of Secret Buddha Statue at Tanzan Shrine, Nara
近畿観光産業株式会社が運営する多武峰観光ホテル（奈良県桜井市）は、2025年5月31日（土）から7月21日（月・祝）までの期間限定で、談山神社の秘仏「談峯如意輪観音菩薩坐像」の史上初となる夜間特別公開にあわせた宿泊・日帰りプランの販売を開始した。
Tounomine Kanko Hotel, operated by Kinki Kanko Sangyo Co., Ltd. (Sakurai City, Nara Prefecture), has launched a special accommodation and day-trip package in conjunction with the first-ever nighttime viewing of the secret Buddha statue, the Dampo Nyoirin Kannon Bodhisattva, at Tanzan Shrine from May 31 (Sat.) to July 21 (Mon., holiday), 2025.
奈良・桜井の多武峰（とうのみね）に位置する談山神社は、678年に妙楽寺として創建され、神道と仏教が融合した神仏習合の信仰を形成した。明治以降は神仏分離令により神社となったが、十三重塔をはじめ、神仏習合時代の名残を色濃くとどめている。
Tanzan Shrine, located on Mount Tounomine in Sakurai, Nara, was originally founded as Myorakuji Temple in 678, fostering a syncretic form of worship combining Shinto and Buddhism. After the Meiji period, it became a Shinto shrine due to the separation of Buddhism and Shinto, yet retains strong historical traces of its syncretic past, such as its iconic Thirteen-Storied Pagoda.
談山神社 十三重塔
同神社に安置される秘仏「談峯如意輪観音菩薩坐像」は、足の怪我や足腰の健康に御利益があるとされ、毎年6月と7月の日中のみ公開されてきたが、今回、多武峰観光ホテルの利用者限定で夜間に特別公開される運びとなった。
The secret Buddha statue enshrined at Tanzan Shrine, the Dampo Nyoirin Kannon Bodhisattva, is revered for its benefits in healing foot injuries and promoting leg health. Traditionally displayed only during daytime in June and July, it will now be specially opened at night exclusively for guests of Tounomine Kanko Hotel.
秘仏「談峯如意輪観音菩薩坐像（だんぽうにょいりんかんのんぼさつざぞう）」
この特別拝観プランには、宿泊および日帰りが用意されており、参加者は夜間特別拝観のほか、境内のライトアップ鑑賞や奈良県産の靴下がプレゼントされる。夕食には、同ホテル名物の「義経鍋」が提供。「義経鍋」は、源義経が多武峰にかくまわれた逸話に由来し、大和名物料理百選の第1位に選ばれた実績を持つ。
The special viewing plan offers both overnight and day-trip options. Participants can enjoy nighttime viewing of the secret Buddha, illumination of the shrine precincts, and receive specially blessed Nara-made socks. Dinner includes the hotel’s specialty dish, “Yoshitsune Nabe,” named after the legend of Minamoto no Yoshitsune, which has been recognized as the number one dish among Yamato region specialties.
多武峰観光ホテルと談山神社の新たな試みは、地域の歴史・文化資源を活用した奈良観光の新たな魅力発信となることが期待される。
