Koyasan Shinno-in Temple Launches Final Phase Crowdfunding for Treasure House Construction
和歌山県高野山に位置する真言宗別格本山の親王院は、1200年以上にわたり守り続けられてきた重要文化財や歴史的宝物を保管するための宝物殿建設を目的としたクラウドファンディングの最終章を2025年7月31日まで実施している。
Shinno-in Temple, a distinguished temple of Shingon Buddhism located in Koyasan, Wakayama, has launched the final phase of a crowdfunding campaign until July 31, 2025, to fund the construction of a treasure house intended to preserve its cultural treasures and historical artifacts maintained for over 1,200 years.
親王院は、弘法大師空海の十大弟子の一人である真如親王によって開基された。智証大師円珍作の本尊不動明王像や白鳳時代の金銅阿閦如来立像、平安時代の木造兜跋毘沙門天立像をはじめ、数千点にも及ぶ仏像や仏具、経典を保有し、「高野山の図書館」と称されている。
Founded by Shinnyo-shinnō, one of the ten disciples of Kobo Daishi Kukai, Shinno-in Temple houses thousands of Buddhist statues, ceremonial tools, and scriptures, including an important statue of Fudo Myo-o by Chisho Daishi Enchin, a Hakuho-period bronze statue of Ashuku Nyorai, and a Heian-period wooden statue of Tobatsu Bishamonten. Due to its extensive collection, it is often referred to as the “Library of Koyasan.”
これまでの蔵が老朽化し、保存が困難となったため新たな宝物殿の建設が急務となっている。今回のクラウドファンディングは、資材高騰や円安の影響に加え、保存する宝物類が当初の想定より多く、地下蔵を追加で設ける必要が生じたため、追加資金を募っている。
Due to deterioration of the existing storage facilities, constructing a new treasure house has become an urgent priority. This final phase of crowdfunding seeks additional funding due to rising material costs, the weaker yen, and the unexpected increase in the number of artifacts requiring storage, necessitating the addition of an underground vault.
