Make Shrine Launches Crowdfunding to Restore Historic Thatched Roof
京都府南丹市の摩氣神社（まけじんじゃ）は、約1200年の歴史を持つ茅葺屋根の大規模な修繕を目的としたクラウドファンディングを2025年7月30日まで実施している。
Make Shrine in Nantan City, Kyoto Prefecture, has launched a crowdfunding campaign through July 30, 2025, aimed at funding extensive repairs to its historic thatched roof, which dates back approximately 1,200 years.
摩氣神社は食物と農業の神として古くから崇められ、京都府指定文化財の本殿や摂社を覆う茅葺屋根は地域のシンボルとして親しまれてきた。しかし、高齢化による人手不足と物価高騰の影響で維持管理が困難となり、修復のための資金が不足している状況にある。
Long revered as a deity of food and agriculture, Make Shrine is known for its main shrine building and subsidiary shrines covered by a thatched roof designated as a Kyoto Prefectural Cultural Property. However, due to an aging community, labor shortages, and rising costs, maintaining the roof has become increasingly challenging, creating a financial shortfall for necessary repairs.
今回の修復は、30年ぶりに行われる大規模なもので、茅葺屋根の下地のずれや劣化を修復するため、宮大工や地域住民が協力して実施される。修復費用は約2000万円と見積もられ、その一部をクラウドファンディングで賄う。詳細についてはクラウドファンディングのプロジェクトページを参照のこと。
This restoration is the most extensive undertaken in 30 years, addressing structural misalignments and deterioration of the thatched roof’s understructure. The project involves collaboration between shrine carpenters and local residents.
