Tendai Three Head Temples Campaign to Be Held in Tokyo Nihonbashi from June 28 — Fall Special Access Details Also Announced
滋賀県の天台宗三大本山（延暦寺・三井寺・西教寺）を紹介する「日本天台三総本山キャンペーン」が、2025年6月28日と29日の2日間、東京都中央区の滋賀県情報発信拠点「ここ滋賀」で開催される。
The “Tendai Three Head Temples Campaign,” showcasing the three major Tendai temples in Shiga Prefecture—Enryakuji, Miidera, and Saikyoji—will be held on June 28 and 29, 2025, at “Koko Shiga,” Shiga’s official PR base in Nihonbashi, Tokyo.
1階では、三本山ゆかりの菓子や雑貨など、現地でしか入手しにくい品を特別販売。2階では、僧侶による各寺の魅力を語るセミナー（28日15時30分～）が行われる。また、比叡山の木を使ったオリジナル念珠づくり体験（29日、2回開催）も企画されており、完成した念珠は僧侶による祈祷が授けられる。
On the first floor, special local products such as sweets and crafts connected to the temples will be available for purchase. On the second floor, a seminar featuring monks from each temple will be held on June 28 at 3:30 p.m. Additionally, a workshop to create original prayer beads using wood from Mount Hiei will take place twice on June 29. The completed beads will be ritually blessed by a monk.
あわせて、会場では2025年秋に三本山で実施される特別拝観情報も紹介される。延暦寺では通常非公開の横川中堂内陣が11月に公開されるほか、仏教と子どもをテーマにした企画展、曼荼羅の上に花を投じる「投華体験」など密教の儀礼に触れる展示も予定されている。
The event will also feature previews of special viewing programs taking place at the temples in fall 2025. At Enryakuji, the normally restricted inner sanctum of Yokawa Chudo will be open in November. Additional exhibitions will include a themed show on “Buddhism and Children” and a mikkyō ritual experience in which participants cast flowers onto a mandala (tōke) to form a spiritual connection with Buddhas.
三井寺では、「高観音」として知られる千手観音立像と二十八部衆を本堂内陣で公開（11月8日～12月7日）。西教寺では、聖徳太子木像の特別公開（10月25日～12月14日）や紅葉シーズンに合わせたもみじ参道の開放が行われる。
Miidera will display its standing statue of the Thousand-Armed Kannon—known as “Kō Kannon”—along with the 28 guardian deities in the temple’s inner sanctuary from November 8 to December 7. Saikyoji will offer a special viewing of the wooden statue of Prince Shōtoku from October 25 to December 14, alongside its iconic maple-lined approach open during peak foliage season.
また、三井寺・西教寺ではそれぞれ特別御朱印も授与されるほか、西教寺では「幻の坂本菊」を用いた限定菊御膳も登場。秋の参詣とあわせ、信仰と自然、食文化を味わえる催しがそろう。
Both Miidera and Saikyoji will issue limited-edition goshuin (temple stamps) during this period. Saikyoji will also serve a rare seasonal chrysanthemum meal, featuring the elusive “Sakamoto Kiku.” These offerings blend spiritual practice with the experience of nature and traditional cuisine.
