Gion Festival Tour to Feature Talk by Yasaka Shrine’s Chief Priest and Exclusive Visit to the Kankoboko Float
京都・祇園祭の宵山を前に、八坂神社と函谷鉾をめぐる特別体験プランが企画された。
A special experience tour featuring Yasaka Shrine and the Kankoboko float has been announced ahead of Kyoto’s Gion Festival.
ヤサカ観光旅行センター（京都市）は、京都市観光協会と連携し、7月16日限定の祇園祭前祭特別プランを販売している。
Organized by Yasaka Kanko Travel Center in cooperation with the Kyoto City Tourism Association, the tour will be held only on July 16.
当日はまず八坂神社を訪れ、野村明義宮司（予定）による講話を受ける。祇園祭の成り立ちや神輿の役割、町衆文化とのかかわりについて、神職の視点から語られる予定だ。
Participants will begin the day at Yasaka Shrine, where Chief Priest Akiyoshi Nomura (scheduled) will offer a talk on the festival’s origins, the significance of the mikoshi (portable shrines), and the cultural role of Kyoto’s townspeople.
講話後は、八坂神社の神輿を見学し、専用タクシーで四条通へ移動する。
Following the lecture, guests will view the shrine’s mikoshi before being transported by private taxi to Shijo Street.
午後は、函谷鉾町が所有する山鉾「函谷鉾」を特別に貸切り、鉾の拝観とお囃子の鑑賞を行う。
In the afternoon, participants will enjoy exclusive access to the Kankoboko float, owned by the Kankoboko neighborhood, including a guided tour of the float and a live hayashi music performance.
参加者には、厄除けのちまきや、菊水鉾の拝観券（茶席付き）も授与される予定。
Participants will also receive a yakuyoke chimaki (protective charm) and an admission ticket to view the Kikusui-boko float, including access to a tea ceremony.
販売価格は1人7万円。定員は20名に限られ、祇園祭の本質に触れる機会として注目されている。
The plan is priced at ¥70,000 per person and limited to 20 participants, offering a rare chance to engage deeply with the spirit of the Gion Festival.
