Buddhism as a Bridge for International Dialogue: Peace-Focused Cultural Exchange at Komyoji Temple in Susono
裾野・光明寺から富士山を臨む
静岡県裾野市の光明寺（曹洞宗）で、アジアの仏教関係者が一堂に会する国際文化交流イベント「アジア文化交流のつどい〜世界平和のための仏教〜」が、6月27日から3日間の日程で開催される。宗派や国境を超えて「仏教を通じた平和の実現」を目指す取り組みで、日本では初の開催となる。
Komyoji Temple in Susono, Shizuoka Prefecture, will host an international cultural exchange event titled “Asian Cultural Gathering: Buddhism for World Peace” from June 27 to 29. This marks the first time the initiative—aimed at realizing peace through Buddhism across sects and national boundaries—will be held in Japan.
会期中は、韓国・ネパール・マレーシア・日本の代表者による合同法要や文化フォーラム、四か国語による御朱印頒布などが行われ、仏教を共有する地域間の対話と理解が図られる。
The program includes joint prayer ceremonies, a cultural forum, and collaborative goshuin (temple seal) offerings in four languages by representatives from Korea, Nepal, Malaysia, and Japan. These events foster dialogue and mutual understanding among Buddhist communities across Asia.
最終日には、日本の書家とネパール代表による直書き御朱印も登場し、書や信仰を通じた表現が交わされる予定だ。
On the final day, special hand-drawn goshuin created by Japanese calligraphers and Nepalese leaders will be offered, symbolizing spiritual expression through calligraphy and shared beliefs.
