Reiwa-Era Oyama Pilgrimage: Two-Day Shukubo Tour at Oyama Afuri Shrine in Kanagawa
多拠点居住サービス「ADDress」と寺社宿泊ブランド「OTERA STAY」は、神奈川県伊勢原市の大山阿夫利神社を舞台にした宿坊体験ツアー「令和版・大山詣り」を共同で企画した。
Co-living service ADDress and temple lodging brand OTERA STAY have jointly launched a special event, the “Reiwa-Era Oyama Mairi Tour,” centered around Oyama Afuri Shrine in Isehara, Kanagawa Prefecture.
開催は2回限定。第1弾は2025年7月20日から21日、第2弾は8月16日から17日で、いずれも1泊2日の日程で実施される。
The tour will be held twice: the first from July 20 to 21, 2025, and the second from August 16 to 17, each following a one-night, two-day itinerary.
江戸時代、関東総鎮護の霊山として信仰を集めた大山では、かつて「大山講」による集団参拝が盛んだった。江戸の人口が約100万人の時代に、年間20万人が詣でたと記録されている。
During the Edo period, Oyama was revered as a guardian mountain of the Kanto region, drawing large pilgrimage groups known as “Oyama-ko.” Historical records show that some 200,000 people visited annually when Edo’s population was around one million.
今回のツアーは、その伝統を継承しつつ、現代の多拠点ライフスタイルに合わせた新しい形の「大山詣り」として企画された。地域の人々や参加者同士の交流を深める構成となっており、宿坊での宿泊や地元食材を使った宴会、正式参拝などが組み込まれている。
The tour inherits this tradition while reimagining it for today’s mobile lifestyle. Participants will stay at temple lodging, enjoy a banquet featuring local cuisine, and take part in a formal shrine visit, fostering connection among locals and travelers.
1日目は、浄書体験や宿坊チェックインの後、地元での買い出しや夕食会が行われ、夜には自由参加の交流タイムも設けられる。2日目は、朝の目覚め体験や朝拝、ケーブルカーでの山上移動、茶寮での休憩を経て、大山阿夫利神社での正式参拝へと続く。
The first day includes a calligraphy meditation session, temple lodging check-in, and a community dinner, followed by a relaxed evening gathering. The second day begins with an early morning activity, a purification ritual, a cable car ascent, and tea service, culminating in a formal shrine visit.
運営側は、「地元の人々と過ごすことで、知らない土地も“また来たい場所”になる体験を提供したい」と話している。
Organizers emphasize their hope that connecting with local residents will transform unfamiliar places into destinations travelers wish to return to.
More than just a sightseeing trip, this project aims to foster deeper cultural connections. With shukubo as the starting point, the tour offers encounters and insights not found in guidebooks.
