Otera Oyatsu Club Launches “Summer Gift 2025” to Deliver Food and Essentials to 2,500 Single-Parent Families Nationwide
子どもの貧困問題の解決に取り組む認定NPO法人おてらおやつクラブ（代表理事：松島靖朗）は、2025年7月から8月の夏休み期間中、全国のひとり親家庭に食品や日用品を届ける支援プロジェクト「夏のおすそわけ2025」を実施している。
The certified NPO Otera Oyatsu Club, dedicated to addressing child poverty in Japan, is carrying out its seasonal aid project “Summer Gift 2025” from July to August 2025, delivering food and daily necessities to single-parent families across the country.
今年の支援対象は2,500世帯を予定していたが、すでに4,000件を超える申請が寄せられており、抽選対応の可能性もあるという。
Although the project initially aimed to support 2,500 families, over 4,000 applications have already been received, prompting the organization to consider a lottery-based selection process.
この活動は、全国の寺院に供えられた「おそなえ」を、仏さまからの「おさがり」として再配分する取り組み。おてらおやつクラブは、こうした“おすそわけ”を通じて、地域のつながりや支援の輪を広げている。
The project is based on a unique practice of redistributing temple offerings (“osonae”) as gifts (“osusowake”) to those in need, emphasizing mutual care and community connection through Buddhist values.
長期休暇中は、給食がなくなることや光熱費の増加などにより、経済的負担が増す家庭も多い。2024年度の実施時には、全国2,605世帯に支援を届けており、年々支援の必要性が高まっている。
During school breaks, especially summer, many families face increased financial strain due to the absence of school meals and rising utility costs. In 2024, the program supported 2,605 families, with demand growing each year.
発送に協力する寺院は、供物や信徒の寄贈品を段ボールに詰め、ヤマト運輸との匿名配送システムを通じて発送する。送料はクラブ側が負担する。
Participating temples pack offerings and donated items into boxes, which are shipped via a secure anonymous delivery system in partnership with Yamato Transport. Shipping costs are covered by the organization.
また、食品や日用品の寄付、活動資金の支援、ボランティアによる梱包作業など、多様な形での参加が呼びかけられている。
The organization encourages various forms of support, including donations of goods or funds and volunteer participation in packing and logistics.
「たよってうれしい、たよられてうれしい」。この言葉をスローガンに、仏教の実践を通じた相互扶助の輪が、全国のお寺から着実に広がっている。
Guided by the motto “Joy in helping and being helped,” Otera Oyatsu Club continues to quietly expand a nationwide network of mutual support rooted in Buddhist compassion.
