観光庁は、令和6年度（2025年度）「地方創生プレミアムインバウンドツアー集中展開事業」において、応募のあった企画の中から97件を採択した。 このうち17件（約17.5％）は、寺社や霊場、修験道、禅、神道儀礼など、日本の精神文化に関わる体験を中心に据えた企画と方向性が明確にされた。
The Japan Tourism Agency has selected 97 projects under its FY2025 “Premium Inbound Tourism for Regional Revitalization” initiative. Among them, 17 projects (approximately 17.5%) focus on Japan’s spiritual culture, featuring themes such as temples, sacred sites, Shugendo (mountain asceticism), Zen, and Shinto rituals.
本事業は、地域独自の文化・自然・歴史資源を活かした高付加価値ツアーの造成を支援する制度である。対象は訪日富裕層や体験志向の旅行者で、単なる観光地巡りにとどまらない、「本物の暮らし」や「精神的価値」を体感できる旅の創出が求められている姿勢だ。
The program supports the development of high-value travel experiences that leverage local culture, nature, and heritage. Aimed at affluent and experience-seeking international travelers, it promotes deeper engagement with Japan through journeys that go beyond sightseeing, emphasizing authentic local lifestyles and spiritual richness.
今回採択された寺社・精神文化関連の17件には、高野山や比叡山、白山、出羽三山、宮島、四国遍路など、日本各地の宗教的・精神的な聖地が登場する。「修行」「写経」「祈祷」「参拝」などの語が事業タイトルにも明記され、地域文化と信仰の融合をうかがわせる内容が数多く確認できる。

At some of Japan’s most renowned spiritual sites—such as Mt. Koya, Mt. Hiei, Mt. Hakusan, the Dewa Sanzan, and Miyajima—religious practices like monastic training, sutra copying, and ritual prayer are being adapted into experiential tourism programs.
2. 禅やマインドフルネスなど精神性の強調：静寂や内省を重視した体験として、福井や奈良においては、禅思想やマインドフルネスの文脈が取り入れられている。
