TEMPLESTAY ~KAN~ Open in June at Jorakuji Temple in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, based on the concept of 800 years of samurai culture

神奈川県横須賀市の浄楽寺に、2025年6月、武家文化を体験できる宿坊「TEMPLESTAY KAN～観～」がオープンする。一般社団法人BUSHIDO文化協会（代表：浄楽寺副住職 土川憲弥）が、「武家文化800年」をコンセプトに地域の食事業者らと連携した体験型観光コンテンツを企画提供する。
In June 2025, TEMPLESTAY ~KAN~ will open at Jourakuji Temple in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, offering an experience of samurai culture. The BUSHIDO Cultural Association (Representative: Kenmi Tsuchikawa, vice chief priest of Jourakuji Temple) will plan and provide experience-based tourism content in cooperation with local food vendors under the concept of “800 years of samurai culture.
宿泊者は、鎌倉時代同様に蝋燭の灯りのみの暗闇の中で僧侶の読経と共に運慶作仏像に向き合う「暗闇参り拝観」のほか寺院での武士体験に加え、三浦水軍の釣り船体験、地元食材を使った寿司作りやイタリア料理など、三浦半島の歴史と文化が活かされた多彩なプログラムを楽しむことができる。
Guests can enjoy a variety of programs that make the most of the history and culture of the Miura Peninsula, such as “dark mairi” (visiting a Buddhist statue by Unkei in the dark by candlelight as in the Kamakura period), a samurai experience at a temple, a fishing boat experience of the Miura Suigun, sushi making using local ingredients, and Italian cuisine. The program will be held in Kanagawa Prefecture.
なお、この取り組みは、神奈川県の「地域まるごとホテル＠三浦半島」事業の一環として実施される。宿泊のみの販売は6月から、体験を含む観光プランは7月下旬から開始予定だ。
This initiative is part of Kanagawa Prefecture’s “Regional Marugoto Hotel @ Miura Peninsula” project. Sales of accommodation only are scheduled to begin in June, and sightseeing plans including experiences are scheduled to begin in late July.
浄楽寺（正式名称：金剛山勝長寿院大御堂浄楽寺）は、1189年（文治5年）に鎌倉幕府侍所初代別当の和田義盛が建立したと伝えられ、本堂には、国指定重要文化財である運慶作の仏像5体（阿弥陀如来坐像、観音菩薩立像、勢至菩薩立像、不動明王立像、毘沙門天立像）が安置されている。
Jorakuji Temple (official name: Kongosan Shochojuin Oomido Jourakuji Temple) is said to have been built in 1189 by Yoshimori Wada, the first Betto of the Kamakura Shogunate’s Office of the Samurai, and the main hall houses five statues of Buddha by Unkei (a seated Amida Nyorai, a standing Kannon Bosatsu, a standing Seishi Bosatsu, a standing Fudo Myoo, and a standing Bishamonten), which are nationally designated important cultural properties. The temple is also home to five statues of Buddha by Unkei.
