■Miwa Ebisu Shrine Prepares for 1,100th Anniversary with Komainu Festival and Crowdfunding Campaign
奈良県桜井市の三輪坐恵比須神社は、2025年5月6日（火・祝）に開催される春の祭礼「狛犬祭」に向けて、奉納行事「獅子神楽総舞わし」の実施資金などを募るクラウドファンディングを実施している。
Miwa Ebisu Shrine, located in Sakurai City, Nara Prefecture, is currently running a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for the spring festival “Komainu Festival” scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, 2025. The funds will support the offering event “Shishi-Kagura Grand Performance.”
三輪坐恵比須神社は、「日本最初市場」とされる海柘榴市の守護神として信仰され、令和8年には御鎮座1100年を迎える歴史ある神社。2019年に境内の蔵から風化した木造の狛犬が発見されたことを契機に、クラウドファンディングにより修復が行われ、その感謝の意を込めて「狛犬祭」が始まった。
Miwa Ebisu Shrine is known as the guardian deity of Tsubaichi, said to be Japan’s first marketplace. The shrine will commemorate its 1,100th anniversary in 2026. In 2019, a pair of deteriorated wooden komainu (guardian dog statues) was discovered in the shrine storehouse. They were restored through crowdfunding, which led to the creation of the Komainu Festival to express gratitude.
初年度には幟旗を掲げ、太神楽師による獅子舞が奉納された。以降は、奈良県御杖村の桃俣獅子舞保存会や太神楽師による「獅子神楽総舞わし」が恒例となり、地域住民や参拝者の間でも「三輪のえべっさんの獅子舞」として親しまれている。
In the first year, banners were raised and a lion dance was performed by a traditional Daikagura performer. Since then, the “Shishi-Kagura Grand Performance,” led by the Momonomata Lion Dance Preservation Society from Mitsue Village, Nara, and other performers, has become an annual tradition. The event has become well known among locals and visitors as “the lion dance of Miwa Ebisu-san.”
今年のクラウドファンディングでは、当日の奉納行事に加えて、来年の御鎮座1100年に向けた告知活動費用などを資金使途としており、目標金額は30万円。プロジェクトの受付は4月30日までとなっている。
This year’s crowdfunding campaign seeks to cover not only the costs for the offering event, but also expenses for publicity efforts related to the upcoming 1,100th anniversary. The campaign aims to raise 300,000 yen and will run until April 30, 2025.
